Mettowee Valley Ecumenical Council

The  METTOWEE  VALLEY  ECUMENICAL  COUNCIL  welcomes the participation of clergy and lay people from every Christian Church in the Granville, NY  area.

The MVEC holds monthly meetings of the clergy and lay delegates from the participating churches and other interested persons from the community.

On-going ministries include a Food Pantry housed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a Coat Closet housed at the Peniel Presbyterian Church.

Each year the MVEC sponsors an observance of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity,  an ecumenical Ash Wednesday Service, Friday noon luncheons and worship services during Lent, a community Good Friday Service, an Easter Sunrise Service, a Baccalaureate Service for the Granville High School graduating seniors, an ecumenical Vacation Bible School, a CROP walk, a Blue Christmas service, etc.

From time to time, the MVEC sponsors special youth events, concerts, dramatic presentations, informational meetings, training sessions, forums, workshops, support groups, and other programs of community interest.
